Green Bean Kids began from a desire to create gorgeous, sustainable and organic baby clothes and accessories using the highest quality fabrics we could source, combined with beautiful contemporary styling. All our baby clothing  and accessories are proudly New Zealand made.

At Green Bean we have carefully considered and chosen to work with organic cotton, bamboo fibre and

bamboo fibre /organic cotton blend denim in our collections.

Green Bean work with local cutters, manufacturers, and screen printers that are part of our team to ensure that the quality of our baby and toddler clothing is premium.

Why choose organic cotton baby clothing?

At Green Bean we manufacture from organic cotton in a premium quality French Terry. Our organic baby clothing is super soft and certified by the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) formerly known as SKAL.

Organic cotton is grown without the use of nasty chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Further more organic  cotton seeds are not genetically modified. The fibre is stronger due to less chemicals used in the processing stages.

The organic cotton that Green Bean uses for our organic baby clothing is certified in all stages of the chain from field to spinning. This means that not only do we use organic cotton fibre (95%/5% spndex for recovery) but that the finished garment is GOTS certified for finishing and dyeing.

Why choose bamboo  baby clothing?

We have chosen soft viscose from organic bamboo fibre for our baby clothing collections because it is  so silky soft, highly breathable, ultra absorbent and  non irritating. Rayon or viscose from organic bamboo is also hypoallergenic because  the structure of the fibre is naturally round and smooth therefore it will not irritate babies delicate skin.

In addition we found that bamboo fibre has environmental advantages over other textiles.

Bamboo is a sustainable fibre, grown without the use of harmful pesticides and fertilisers. Our raw bamboo is certified organically grown by OCIA The Organic Crop Improvement Association. In addition our bamboo fibre is also in accordance with the USDA National Organic Programme.

Our bamboo is FSC certified Chain of Custody. FSC is an independent non governmental, not for proft organisation established to promote the responsible management of the worlds forests.

Our soft viscose from organic bamboo carries  Oeko-tex 100 certification for the finished fabric, this ensures that the fabric has been tested for over 100 harmful chemicals, there is no residue of harmful chemicals and is safe for your baby.

The Green Bean baby clothing collection comprises of bodysuits, T-shirts, hoodies, All in ones, and Pants, and has been designed to mix and match. Our rayon from organic bamboo fabric is of the highest quality and is exclusive to Green Bean Kids. Each season Green Bean works with our fabric mills to provide an exclusive range of colours and fabrics for our baby clothing collection.

Viscose from organic bamboo is the softest fabric your baby will wear making it the  perfect choice for babies delicate skin.
